ISO 14001 is the internationally recognized standard for environmental management systems (EMS). It provides a framework for organizations to design and implement an EMS, and continually improve their environmental performance. The Certified ISO 14001 Environmental Management System Lead Implementer certification is designed for individuals seeking to validate their advanced knowledge of ISO 14001. This exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. The passing score is 70%. Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the exam. The exam is available in English and Portuguese.

There are no prerequisites to take the exams. However, we recommend that candidates have at least six months of relevant work experience in the area covered by the certification.

What does the exam voucher include?
The exam voucher includes access to a self-paced online study guide, a practice test with questions matching the type and difficulty level of the actual exam, and two retakes in case you do not pass on your first attempt.

After purchasing an exam voucher, candidates will have 180 days to take the exam.

What type of identification is required during the exam?

What is the exam retake policy?
If a candidate does not achieve a passing score on the first attempt, there is no waiting period between the first and the second attempt. If a candidate does not achieve a passing score on the second attempt, the candidate must wait at least 7 days before retaking the exam for a third time. A candidate may not take a given exam any more than three times per year (12 months).
