About the exam

ISO 26000 provides guidance to all types of organizations, regardless of their size or location, on concepts, terms and definitions related to social responsibility, as well as the background, trends and characteristics of social responsibility. It also addresses the principles and practices relating to social responsibility, the core subjects and issues of social responsibility, and how to integrate, implement and promote socially responsible behaviour throughout the organization. The ISO 26000 Social Responsibility Foundation certification is designed for individuals seeking to validate their foundational knowledge of ISO 26000. This exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. The passing score is 70%. Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the exam. The exam is available in English and Portuguese.

  • There are no prerequisites to take the exams. However, we recommend that candidates have at least six months of relevant work experience in the area covered by the certification.

  • The exam voucher includes access to a self-paced online study guide, a practice test with questions matching the type and difficulty level of the actual exam, and two retakes in case you do not pass on your first attempt.

  • After purchasing an exam voucher, candidates will have 180 days to take the exam.

  • A desktop computer or laptop, Internet connection, microphone and webcam.

  • A valid, government-issued photo ID with a signature.

  • If a candidate does not achieve a passing score on the first attempt, there is no waiting period between the first and the second attempt. If a candidate does not achieve a passing score on the second attempt, the candidate must wait at least 7 days before retaking the exam for a third time. A candidate may not take a given exam any more than three times per year (12 months).

  • The certifications are considered valid for life and do not expire.
