ISO 45001 is an international standard that specifies requirements for an occupational health and safety (OH&S) management system. It provides a framework for organizations to manage risks and improve OH&S performance. The ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System Foundation certification is designed for individuals seeking to validate their foundational knowledge of ISO 45001. This exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. The passing score is 70%. Candidates will have 60 minutes to complete the exam. The exam is available in English and Portuguese.

  • There are no prerequisites to take the exams. However, we recommend that candidates have at least six months of relevant work experience in the area covered by the certification.

  • The exam voucher includes access to a self-paced online study guide, a practice test with questions matching the type and difficulty level of the actual exam, and two retakes in case you do not pass on your first attempt.

  • After purchasing an exam voucher, candidates will have 180 days to take the exam.

  • A desktop computer or laptop, Internet connection, microphone and webcam.

  • A valid, government-issued photo ID with a signature.

  • If a candidate does not achieve a passing score on the first attempt, there is no waiting period between the first and the second attempt. If a candidate does not achieve a passing score on the second attempt, the candidate must wait at least 7 days before retaking the exam for a third time. A candidate may not take a given exam any more than three times per year (12 months).

  • The certifications are considered valid for life and do not expire.
